I personally refuse to get into the whole Guitar Hero craze. I learned from Dance Dance Revolution that as soon as I master something it instantly becomes lame. So I was a little weary when I added Drummer Hero to my iGoogle page. It turns out that it is less of a game and rather a fairly simple drum simulator.

Drummer Hero is a great flash based gadget. I don’t actually play the drums, but this satisfies my desire to learn. It is basically a really simple drum set simulator. You may be wondering if this gadget has any actual applications. Well  I found this gadget convenient in the office, when I told a good joke I was able to hit the symbols for added effect. I will leave it to you to find entertaining moments to use it. The sound is top quality. It actually sounds like real drums. This kinda surprised mebecause you would expect some sort of digital garbage coming from it.

As for gadget implementation, Drummer Hero is alright. I do love the fact that you don’t have to click on the instrument to play it. Waving the mouse over the drums seems more natural than actually clicking on them. Also it allows for a quick drum roll when necessary. There is a fairly large adsense ad on the top of the gadget. It does really bug me. However, this is one of the few gadgets that is so good that a space gobbling advertisement isn’t a deal breaker.
